Fabio completes Fuji Japanese Formula 3 testing Photo NewsFabio Carbone has completed his latest pre-season Japanese Formula 3 tests in Fuji with his Three Bond team. The two-day test was Fabio’s first opportunity to compare himself with the other drivers, as each team has only tested privately up to now. On the first day of testing, Fabio set some extremely promising times – ending up third fastest, just 0.2 seconds off the quickest driver. The second day of the test was blighted by recurring brake problems, which meant that Fabio was unable to set a representative time. Despite this handicap the Brazilian was extremely pleased with the work carried out by the Three Bond team over both days of the test, in which he completed approximately 80 laps and 360 kilometres. “We’ve driven a lot and done a good job to define the race set-up here,” commented Fabio. “The most important work has been on the suspension and we have definitely taken a step forward in every area. We saw on the first day that we can run consistently among the quickest. On the second day our brakes kept on overheating, which meant that there was no point in running with new tyres. But we still carried out a lot of testing work, so the day was by no means wasted. I really enjoyed driving the car – now I just can’t wait for the proper racing to start!” Fabio’s next test will be at the famous Suzuka circuit from March 22-23. Again, he will face the full field of Japanese Formula 3 competitors. 1st OFFICIAL PRACTICE FUJI SPEED WAY 7,8-March DRY Pos No Driver Nat Car Name Model 3/8 PM 1 10 Kodai Tsukakoshi JPN Honda F107 DOME F107 1'36.299 2 1 Adrian Sutil GER DHG TOM'S F305 DALLARA F305 1'36.381 3 36 Kazuya Oshima JPN TDP TOM'S F305 DALLARA F305 1'36.425 4 4 Roberto Streit BRA INGING F306 DALLARA F306 1'36.438 5 12 Fabio Carbone BRA ThreeBond DALLARA F305 1'36.603 6 3 Naoki Yokomizo JPN INGING F306 DALLARA F306 1'36.922 7 14 Marko Asmer EST ThreeBond DALLARA F306 1'36.980 8 2 Takuya Izawa JPN Honda FIGHTEX DOME F107 1'37.099 9 33B Hiroaki Ishiura JPN DALLARA F305 DALLARA F305 1'37.357 10 37 Hideto Yasuoka JPN TDP TOM'S F305 DALLARA F305 1'37.609 11 62 Koki Saga JPN DENSO F306 DALLARA F306 1'38.387 12 50 Motohiko Isozaki JPN GOLDON ZAP F305 DALLARA F305 1'38.443 13 74 Satoru Okada JPN EMS F306 DALLARA F305 1'38.657 14 74B Daisuke Ikeda JPN EMS F306 DALLARA F305 1'39.051 15 33 Tsubasa Abe JPN DALLARA F305 DALLARA F305 1'39.507
