RAGUES CONTINUES TEST PROGRAMME AT OSCHERSLEBEN
Pierre Ragues – the only Frenchman to compete on the inaugural Formula Master Championship this year – has continued his test programme with the Euronova team at the German circuit of Oschersleben.
The one-day test, in preparation for the next round of the Masters Championship that will take place on the circuit at the end of August, saw Pierre emerge with ninth-fastest time.
Nonetheless, the focus of the test was for Pierre to learn the circuit layout and investigate the ideal car set-up, rather than set outright times. Despite a couple of problems, including a puncture, Pierre completed around 110 laps of the circuit and he feels confident of a good performance during the forthcoming race weekend.
The 23 year-old commented: “We’ve made a solid start and I think we can do well in the race. There are still a few things we need to sort out with the balance of the car, but this is why we go testing. Sometimes it is harder if you are quickest straight away, because it is more difficult to identify the right areas of development. As it is, we now have a very clear idea of where we need to improve, and with the renowned professionalism of the Euronova team I am sure we will do it. My team mate actually set fastest time at the test, so this is a good opportunity for me to learn from him.”
The Oschersleben race, round six of the Formula Master Championship, takes place on August 26th.
Testing times at Oschersleben:
1. BONANOMI 1’21.824
