CARBONE TOPS FUJI TEST Threebond driver Fabio Carbone has topped the test times at Fuji, prior to the final round of the Japanese Formula 3 Championship at Motegi from October 21-22. Fuji – one of Japan’s classic race circuits – has previously hosted the Japanese Grand Prix and contains a challenging variety of straights and corners. Fabio won the last two rounds of the Japanese Formula 3 Championship at Sugo two weeks ago in a dominant weekend. Once more, the Brazilian showed his speed by going consistently fastest during the two-day Fuji test. He is currently challenging for third in the championship. The 25 year-old commented: “It was a really good test and I felt very confident throughout both days. The team is working really well at the moment, and I think it is important that we carry through the momentum of our success in Sugo. There were no major changes that we made to the car and it felt very easy to drive, so I’d like to thank everybody for their hard work so far. Of course we are not going to relax now: there are still many big challenges ahead. I’m looking forward to them!” Test times, Fuji: Day 1 1.Carbone 1m36.793s 2.Oshima 1m37.694s 3.Sutil 1m37.945s Day 2 (first session) 1.Carbone 1m37.839s 2.Sutil 1m37.882s 3.Oshima 1m38.132s For more information: www.quadrasports.com www.fabiocarbone.com Geneva 23/9/06
