RAGUES CONTINUES FORMULA MASTER TEST PROGRAMME Photo NewsFollowing a successful shakedown test at Monza, Pierre Ragues has continued to learn the Formula Master car run by Euronova. The Frenchman will use the all-new car to contest the inaugural Formula Master championship this season. The 22 year-old from Caen tested for one day at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome this week – a highly technical track that is used by many teams to assess new cars. Pierre’s team mate Alberto Costa was also testing on the Italian circuit at the same time, as Euronova gears up for its latest challenge. The Formula Master championship will follow 10 meetings of the prestigious World Touring Car series this year. It uses identical Honda-powered single-seaters with performances comparable to those of a GP2 car. Pierre said: “The test went very well, and it was an excellent opportunity to have lots of running time on a clear track. We were able to try a few different things, but most importantly of all we got a very good feel for the car – which is well-balanced and easy to drive. There’s obviously a limit to what you can do in just one day, but we’re definitely on the right road and I believe that we are making very good progress together with Euronova so far. As we had nobody to compare ourselves with, the test wasn’t really about setting times: it was more to explore the different possibilities we have with this brand-new car.” The first double-header race on the Formula Master Championship will take place at Valencia in Spain from May 19-20. Both races will be broadcast live on Eurosport, Europe’s largest television channel.
