FABIO PREPARES FOR MOTEGI Photo NewsBrazilian Fabio Carbone has completed two successful days of testing in preparation for the fifth and sixth rounds of the Japanese Formula 3 Championship in Motegi. The 25 year-old, who drives for the Three Bond team, shook down a brand new chassis and also tested some new dampers. The rest of the test was aimed at finding a good set-up for the Motegi circuit, which will host the third Japanese Formula 3 meeting of the year at the end of this month. At the end of the sessions, Fabio emerged with third-quickest time from a strong field of competitors. Conditions were wet for the first day and a half of the test, with some dry running only on the final afternoon. The Quadra Sports-backed driver said: “It was an extremely positive test, where we experienced a wide variety of conditions. My flying lap wasn’t perfect and we could definitely have gone even faster, so that’s a very good sign heading into the race. I feel ready for action now, and we will be certainly targeting another podium finish.” With four races out of 18 completed, Fabio is currently third in the championship.
