RAGUES SIGNS FOR LMP2 CAMPAIGN WITH PESCAROLO Photo NewsFrenchman Pierre Ragues has signed to compete for Pescarolo on the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year. The team is directed by Le Mans legend Henri Pescarolo, and Pierre will drive an all-new LMP2 Pescarolo-Judd throughout his campaign.

Pescarolo’s Le Mans Series programme takes in five 1000-kilometre races across Europe’s most prestigious circuits, starting in Barcelona from April 5-6 and ending up at Silverstone from September 13-14. The highlight of the 24 year-old’s year will be the world famous Le Mans 24 Hours, where he will fight for LMP2 victory along with his team mates, who will be other up-and-coming French drivers.

Up-and-coming Frenchman Mathieu Lahaye will be his team mate throughout the Le Mans series, and for the 24 Hours they will be joined by a third driver. Pierre’s car, powered by a brand new design of Judd engine, will carry competition number 35 and run on Michelin tyres. The Frenchman has some previous experience of Le Mans, having made his debut at the endurance classic in 2006 – when he also competed on the full Le Mans series. Last year he participated in the inaugural Formula Master series, claiming a podium at Oschersleben and taking four podium finishes in eight races.

Pierre commented: “I love sportscar racing and I’m absolutely delighted to have clinched a deal with Pescarolo: a name that needs no introduction in motorsport. I’ve got some experience of the Le Mans series and Le Mans itself from 2006, and I can’t wait to go back. With the programme we have this year, I should get plenty of time in the car – which is very important. We’ve got an entirely new package this year in terms of chassis and engine, but a very established team behind us. I’m sure we can be extremely competitive.” Henri Pescarolo, a four-time winner at Le Mans, said: “Helping the careers of promising young drivers has always been a passion of mine, and this is the philosophy behind our LMP2. In Pierre we have a very big asset, and I look forward to seeing him develop over the course of the season.”
