Four questions to Fabio Carbone Photo NewsHow do you feel the 2007 season went for you?

FC: “It was a mixed season that definitely got better towards the end. In many ways it was a shame that the season ended when it did as we were hitting our best form. At the start of the year we were a bit unlucky with some set-up problems and a few mechanical issues, but then we were able to fight back in the second half of the year and in fact we finished second overall in the Japanese GT Championship – which was a very big satisfaction, along with our victory in Fuji. The most important thing for me is that we were definitely capable of fighting for the title, which is why I race.”

How about your plans for the 2008 season?

FC: “They are definitely coming together, and I hope to announce my plans within the next month or so. It looks like I’ll be coming back to Europe to race in a top single-seater championship, which is very exciting. There are still some details to tie up, but it’s sure that I will give my maximum commitment and do my very best to win, as always.”

Will you miss Japan?

FC: “For sure. I’ve raced in Japan for the last two seasons, and there are some fantastic circuits and really nice people. I’ve made lots of very good friends in Japan and I’m very interested in Japanese culture – not to mention Japanese food. I’d like to thank the Dandelion Racing and Nakajima teams for all their hard work and a successful collaboration. If the opportunity ever came up to race in Japan again, I would definitely take it.”

What are you up to now and how are you preparing for the 2008 season?

FC: “At the moment I am at home in Brazil, spending some time with my family and working hard at my physical training. Every day I am also on the phone with my management company to try and finalise my race deal for 2008. I’m probably going to come over to Europe next month for a seat fitting and then I hope to start testing as soon as possible. It’s nice to be at home after I’ve spent such a long time away, but I just wish I was racing already!”
